Specialty Fowl
The Pearl Guinea is the most common variety of Guinea today. Originating in Africa, the Pearl is the guinea seen in most nature shows posing as a look-out around the water holes. They are very alert and wonderful "buggers". Pearls are a joy to have around and a delicacy for the table.

Guineas are very tasty when fried or prepared like a Pheasant. They're a very good bug eater, too. Most Guineas start laying in May and usually continue through September. Their eggs are considered a delicacy. Guineas are known to eat lots of ticks, grasshoppers and other bugs.

These are also known as albino guineas because they are nearly all white with just a speck of black sometimes found on the neck. The skin on these birds is also slightly lighter than the other varieties.

Everyone has been talking about these quail. In as little as six weeks they will be mature and can begin laying eggs. We like for ours to begin laying at about eight weeks since their reproductive systems are more mature. Their eggs are delicious prepared any way. Many of our customers like to pickle these eggs, but they are great fried, broiled, or prepared in cakes and pastires. Their meat is considered a delicacy and they will be ready to eat much sooner than regular quail. The Coturnix is great for school projects since their eggs hatch in 17 days and they can mature in 6 - 8 weeks, making observation and lesson preparation time much sooner. These quail are also excellent to flight train your dogs. Must be ordered in multiples of 50.

African Goose
|
This breed is not as heavy as the Toulouse or White Embden, but they mature early. They are different from other geese in having a large black knob on their head and a dark stripe down the back of the neck. They are very dignified looking and attract a great deal of attention. They are especially desirable for crossing with the heavier breeds of geese.

White Embden geese originated by the Em River in Germany and were first brought to the U.S. in 1821. They have the same massive appearance as the Toulouse, combined with a pure white color. They are a wonderful eating bird and easier to dress because of the white plumage. Expect fall weights of 20 pounds for males and 13 pounds for females. Excellent for purebred showing.

This goose can be sexed at any time, even right after hatching, by their color. Males are white, females are grey. This is a medium-sized goose that is a great meat goose, yet is excellent for weeding. These geese have a very tame disposition and are not as aggressive as most other geese. They are great around children as they are very tame and make great pets.
Pilgrims are good layers and their eggs hatch well. They make great mothers, and the other geese even help to protect the newly-hatched babies. No other breed of goose has the very friendly, docile disposition of Pilgrims.
Unsexed Day Old Only
Each $9.00
Sexed Day Old Pairs $22.00 Per Pair
